Putha Hiunchuli Expedition Overview And Highlights

The Putha Hiunchuli Expedition (7,246 m), also known as Dhaulagiri VII, is one of the most beautiful and accessible 7,000-meter peaks in the Dhaulagiri Range. Located in the remote Dolpo region of western Nepal, the mountain offers an incredible combination of adventure, wilderness, and stunning Himalayan scenery. The first successful ascent was made in 1954 by J.O.M. Roberts and Ang Nyima Sherpa via the Northeast route.

The journey to Putha Hiunchuli takes you through isolated villages, rugged landscapes, alpine valleys, and untouched trails far from the crowded trekking routes. The region is rich in natural beauty and cultural diversity, offering trekkers a unique experience of the remote Himalayan lifestyle. It is also considered an excellent destination for ski mountaineering enthusiasts.

Although Putha Hiunchuli is a high-altitude expedition, it is regarded as one of the less technical 7,000-meter climbs. Most sections of the route have moderate slopes, making it a perfect choice for climbers looking to gain experience before attempting more challenging 7,000m or 8,000m peaks. However, good physical fitness, endurance, and previous trekking or climbing experience are highly recommended.

During the expedition, we establish multiple high camps above Base Camp to support a safe and organized summit push. Base Camp is set at approximately 4,900 meters, followed by Camp I (5,500 m), Camp II (6,150 m), and Camp III (6,350 m). Our experienced Sherpa team manages all camp logistics and climbing support while providing quality meals and professional expedition services throughout the journey.

Spring, summer, and autumn are the best seasons for the Putha Hiunchuli Expedition, offering stable weather, clear mountain views, and comfortable trekking conditions. With breathtaking landscapes, peaceful trails, and a rewarding summit experience, Putha Hiunchuli is an ideal expedition for climbers seeking a true Himalayan adventure.
