Everest Base Camp Trek Itineary
The Everest Base Camp trek begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a gradual trek through beautiful Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar and Tengboche. Along the way, trekkers enjoy stunning views of Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest.
The journey includes acclimatization days to adjust to high altitude before reaching Everest Base Camp. A hike to Kala Patthar offers breathtaking sunrise views over Everest and surrounding mountains. The trek then follows the same route back to Lukla, ending with a flight back to Kathmandu.
This adventure combines natural beauty, cultural experience, and a rewarding Himalayan journey.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, there will be a short trek briefing and gear check. If time allows, explore nearby cultural sites and markets.
Enjoy a thrilling mountain flight to Lukla with stunning Himalayan views. Begin your trek with a gentle walk through Sherpa villages, prayer wheels, and mani walls, following the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding.
Cross several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge. Enter Sagarmatha National Park and ascend through pine forests to reach Namche Bazaar, the vibrant heart of the Khumbu region.
A crucial rest day to adjust to altitude. Take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel or Khumjung village for breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Explore local markets and cafes.
Walk along scenic ridgelines with panoramic mountain views. Descend to the river and climb through rhododendron forests to Tengboche. Visit the famous monastery and enjoy spiritual Himalayan surroundings.
Descend through forests to Debuche, cross a suspension bridge, and pass Pangboche village. The landscape becomes more open and alpine as you approach Dingboche, with incredible views of Ama Dablam.
Another important acclimatization day. Hike to Nagarjun Hill or nearby viewpoints for stunning views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Island Peak. Helps your body adapt to higher altitude.
Continue along a high-altitude trail with views of glaciers and peaks. Pass Thukla and climb to the memorial area dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest before reaching Lobuche.
Trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep. After a short rest, continue to Everest Base Camp. Celebrate reaching this iconic destination before returning to Gorakshep for the night.
Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for the best sunrise view of Everest and surrounding peaks. After enjoying the panorama, descend to Pheriche for overnight.
Descend through Pangboche and Tengboche, retracing your steps with easier breathing and changing landscapes. Continue back to Namche Bazaar.
Final trekking day. Walk back along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing familiar villages before reaching Lukla.
Take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Spend the day relaxing or exploring the city.
Transfer to the airport for your onward journey, marking the end of an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
