After a survey by the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), and the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, the Mardi Himal base camp trails opened in 2012. (ACAP).

 

The Mardi Himal trekking appears to be the most accessible of the five-day treks, with the best views of snow-capped mountains such as Annapurna South (7,219 m), Machhapuchhre (6993 m), Annapurna I (8,091 m), and Annapurna South (7,219 m). Him Chuli (6,441 m), Mardi Himal (5,553 m), and Annapurna III (7,555 m). Gangapurna (7,454 m), Dhaulagiri Himal (8167 m), and so forth. Mardi trek is located directly east of the most popular journey to Annapurna base camp trek alongside the magnificent and imposing Fishtail Mountain, and is the closest trek to the newly inaugurated Kori Trek.

 

The Mardi Himal trek begins with a 40-minute drive from Pokhara to Naudanda Kande on the Beni Baglung Highway, followed by a one-and-a-half-hour hike toAustralian Camp. The Australian Camp has breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Pokhara valleys. Today the camp is located at Pitam Deurali, between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal, and overlooks the Modi Khola gorge and rhododendron forest.

The Mardi Himal hike takes you through a lush rhododendron forest on narrow pathways at an elevation of roughly 3,300m. As you rise, the terrain will change into rugged high mountains, providing a spectacular panorama of Machhapuchhre Himal, popularly known as Fishtail. There are many diverse types of trees, but the Mardi Himalayas region is known for its rhododendron, bamboo, and oak trees. Furthermore, there are some blue pines in the forests at this elevation that must be traveled through. The 5-day trek to see the Annapurna mountains with your own eyes is one of the most popular Mardi hikes.

Itenary

Itenary to Mardi Himal Trek as follows:

01

Day 01 : Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2200m, about 3 to 4 hours trek)

After a nicely cooked hot breakfast; we drive some 40 minutes to Phedi and commence our trek there at the elevation of 1100 meters. 1.5 Hours climb up takes to beautiful village of Dhampus. The trail is going uphill at the beginning and then easy pleasant easy walk up to Pothana from there, and it is gradual walk up to Deurali (2200m) about 2 hours where you stay in a tea house lodge for the first night. It is an easy start for the first day.

Day 02 : Trek to Low Camp (2,900m)

  • 7 hours walking.
03

Day 03 : Trek to High Camp (3585m)

  • 5-6 hours trekking.
04

Day 04 : Hike Mardi Himal BC (4500m)

  • back to Middle Camp (3200m)
05

Day 05 : Trek to Kalimaati (1,750m)

  • 6 to 7 hours walking.
06

Day 06 : Sinuwa to deurali (3200m)

  • 3 hours walking and 2 hours driving.
